“CHICO” IS AN ADVENTUROUS BOY!
Chico means boy and is a Spanish derivative of Francisco. Our Chico is a three-year-old sable and white husky male, 35 lbs. Chico was surrendered as his family, sadly, did not have time for him.
Chico presents as fun and easy-going, who loves playing with his stuffed toys and enjoys human contact. People tend to get attracted to the looks of a husky while disregarding the husky nature. Huskies are energetic; need lots of stimulation, thrive if they feel they have a job.
Chico MUST go to a home with a fully fenced yard; the urge for a husky to become a runner is inbred in their nature. Chico has his basic commands, is housebroken, and is remarkably easy to walk despite his energetic presentation.
Chico is ok with other dogs as long as a proper introduction has taken place, is not a cat fan and would probably enjoy life in an active adult family or with older children (10+) who would not leave gates and doors open, where the lure of freedom would take over.
Chico is actually a quiet, friendly dog but has also been named “an escape artist” and “busy bee” by our staff.
A family with husky experience would be a plus; Chico needs to be adopted not because of looks but because the family is a fit for his nature and would embrace his zest for life.
If that family is you, please call the shelter at 519-833-2287 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to meet this delightful canine.
