Tigger … shy yes … potential plenty!
Re-homing any animal into the right home is hard, but some are harder than others and a shy resident is not optimum for a speedy launch into a new family!
Tigger is a prettily marked brown and black tabby female, medium sized and very young looking for her 9 years of life…possibly due to the fact that before coming to the shelter on June 1, she had been with her original family since she was 6 weeks old. Apparently, the family dynamic changed and Tigger found herself bewildered, frightened and surrendered.
Tigger just hid so much so that taking a photograph of her was a feat in itself; gradually she is adjusting to her circumstances and if you take the time to seek her out you will find she is sweet and friendly. Eating is a happy event and she loves all types of food. She is accepting of other cats; has not had experience with dogs; should be able to manage quiet older children who would not be put off by her shy nature.
Doesn’t it pull at your heart strings…from sleeping on an owner’s bed from infancy to hiding from the turmoil and noise of the shelter with all the sounds, smells and noise…no wonder she just wants to hide. However, once that shell is tapped, Tigger enjoys head/neck pats, lower back scratches, being brushed, being gently picked up and will even engage in playtime.
Like a lot of felines, she comes out of her shell as night draws near and will even cuddle with you…so we know someone is out there who will see her potential and give her a home for her golden years.
