Paige, a German Shepherd puppy is experiencing severe pain. Car rides are supposed to be a fun adventure, but for Paige, her trips involved several visits to the Veterinarian and a Specialist. Paige needs a femoral head osteotomy (FHO). This specialized surgery removes the “ball” part of the ball-and-socket that makes up the hip joint. The bones of the joint would no longer be in contact, which would eliminate the pain Paige experiences. (see image of Paige’s XRAY below). The fee for Paige’s FHO surgery is $2624.
