Upper Credit Humane Society Board Appoints Travis Forbes as New Executive Director

New leadership marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for animals, supporters and the community. 

ERIN, ON — September 2026 — 

The Board of Directors of Upper Credit Humane Society (UCHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Travis Forbes as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective October 5, 2026. 

For Upper Credit Humane Society, the appointment represents more than a change in leadership. It marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for an organization with a strong foundation and an ambitious vision for the future. 

Forbes joins UCHS following three years with the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, where he most recently served as National Event Manager. His work has focused on philanthropy, fundraising, community engagement, events, sponsorship and bringing people together to create meaningful impact. 

That experience, combined with his passion for animals and community, will help guide UCHS as it enters a period of significant growth and opportunity.

I look forward to advancing that vision while bringing a fresh perspective, new energy and greater awareness to the animals that need it most.” 

Forbes will work closely with the Board, staff, volunteers, donors and community partners to build on the Society’s existing strengths while exploring new opportunities to grow its reach, strengthen its fundraising and deepen its connection with the community. 

Susan Thomsen, Chair of the Board of Directors, says Forbes’ leadership experience and approach to community building will be an important asset as UCHS looks toward its future.

Forbes says his focus will remain firmly rooted in the animals at the centre of the organization’s mission. 

“At the end of the day, this is about the animals,” said Forbes. “Every partnership we build, every dollar we raise and every new opportunity we pursue should help us create better outcomes for the animals who need us most. I’m incredibly excited to be part of this community and to see what we can accomplish together.”
