Volunteer Opportunities
Shelter
There's no such thing as too many hands at the shelter. From cuddling and playing with the cats and kittens, to walking the dogs, to helping maintain general cleanliness, we always appreciate the extra help.
*To work with the animals at the shelter, you must be at least 16, and you must be at least 18 to work with the dogs.*
Thrift Shop
We always welcome volunteers to join our Thrift Shop team. Volunteers are needed to work in all areas, including: sorting merchandise, pricing and sales. High school students who need to complete their 40 hours of community service are also encouraged to apply.
*We require volunteers at the thrift store to be at least 14 years of age.*
Fundraising & Events
Raising money and awareness is critical to the success of UCHS. We can always use volunteers to assist when we're hosting fundraisers, rabies clinics, adoption events, or when we get to know the community at public events.
Committees
We are looking for volunteers who can help keep the shelter in tip-top condition. Do you have experience as a handyman, general contractor or in property maintenance? We'd love to have you on our team!
