The Upper Credit Humane Society Thrift Shop is our largest source of revenue, contributing funds to cover approximately 35% of our annual shelter operating expenses. The store is staffed entirely by volunteers and all money raised at the Thrift Shop goes to support the UCHS.
The Thrift Store is located at 68 Main St. N., Georgetown and is open for donations during operating hours. Donations are accepted at the back of building. Please DO NOT leave donations when we are closed.
Due to limited space we cannot accept large items such as appliances, however small pieces of furniture and gently used household items are very much appreciated.
We are always happy to accept the following items:
Items we can NOT accept are as follows:
If in doubt about the suitability of your donation please feel free to call one of our volunteers at 905-702-8661.
The Thrift Shop holds a silent auction each month. The items to be auctioned are displayed in the front window of the shop. Bids are accepted in advance in a book inside the store. The auction becomes a live auction on the last Saturday of the month (exception in December when the auction will be held before Christmas) at 3:30 p.m. When bidding on an auction item you must supply a legible and operating phone number or your bid cannot be considered. All items that are not claimed on auction day must be picked up within 10 days. All winners will be notified by phone.

If you enjoy helping animals, we could use your help in the Thrift Shop. We would like to extend our hours of operation, but we need volunteers to do this.
Volunteers are needed to work in all areas, including:
There is always room for volunteers who are able to repair furniture and refinish some items.
Forty hours of community service for high school students
This is a great place to gain some retail and customer service experience for your resume and, at the same time, know that what you are doing is contributing greatly to the needs of the animals in our shelter.
