Whether you are looking to recognize a celebratory milestone (retirements, birthdays, anniversaries) or just find a gift for that hard-to-find-for person in your life, sponsoring a dog kennel, cat condo or small animal enclosure is an excellent choice. This is one of the very best ways you can help transition an animal from a difficult time to a loving home.
Our kennels and cages provide a safe and caring environment – often the first safe space the animal has ever known. When you sponsor a cage or kennel you receive a heartfelt letter of appreciation acknowledging the sponsorship (perfect for gift giving) and a certificate of sponsorship. A plaque is placed on a kennel for an entire year recognizing your contribution to the health, comfort and safety of the animal housed within. Of course, all of this is followed by a tax receipt. Finally, you are left with the knowledge that you have provided for an animal in distress in a very meaningful, practical and heartfelt way until they are able to find their way home.
Many of our supporters want to help the animals by donating items that we use at the shelter everyday. Here are some items we currently need:
Animal Care Supplies:
Cleaning Supplies:
Gift cards to pet supply stores, gas stations, and large retail stores (Canadian Tire, Staples, Walmart, etc.) are also always appreciated. We also accept direct delivery donations to the Shelter for purchases made from our Amazon Wishlist.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are currently well stocked with toys and towels and have removed them from our wish list for now. We will add these items back onto our wish list when our supplies need replenishing.
Bottles and Cans
Please drop off your empty bottles and cans at our Shelter or the Thrift Shop. We accept all LCBO empties including bottles, cans, and wine tetra packaging, but NOT sparkling water bottles.
Scrap Metal
Have some scrap metal to get rid of? Drop it off in the bin at the Shelter. All proceeds go directly to caring for the animals! We accept metal items such as hardware, filing cabinets, appliances, and auto parts, but NOT propane tanks or general garbage.
Thanks to our friends at Sanderson Metal Recovery for donating the proceeds of the metal to the shelter!
Want to get involved and help the animals in your community? How about hosting your own fundraiser with proceeds going to help the animals?
Here are some creative ways you can help the shelter:
Are you concerned about the welfare of animals? Do you agree that animals should always be protected from cruelty, abuse and neglect? Then you can help us continue to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves now and beyond your lifetime.
How? By making a planned gift to the Upper Credit Humane Society. A planned gift maximizes the benefits of a charitable gift for you through substantial tax and estate planning benefits. At the same time, it allows you to make a long lasting gift to the UCHS.
